Projects and Programs
The Treasure Beach Women’s Group Benevolent Society (TBWG) was established in September 2000 as a lean and flexible organization that responds to the evolving needs of our community. We partner with local and international individuals and organizations who share our vision of empowerment, sustainability, and community growth.
Community Outreach
Caring for our neighbors has always been at the heart of TBWG. Our outreach initiatives bring comfort and support to those most in need:
- Annual gift bags for shut-ins and the elderly
- Christmas donations to the Black River Hospital Children’s Ward
- COVID-19 and hurricane relief packages for families and tourism workers
- Donations of medical supplies and equipment to hospitals
- Connecting frail and disabled community members to essential services
Youth Development
We believe in investing in the next generation. TBWG provides programs that support learning, growth, and opportunity for young people:
- Billy’s Bay Learning Centre – a literacy program that enhances children’s learning and builds confidence
- Annual gift bags for shut-ins and the elderly
- School transportation support for students in need
- Period Poverty Project – ensuring girls have consistent access to hygiene products
- Back-to-school supplies and book drives
- Youth mentorship and outreach programs
Training & Education
Lifelong learning empowers individuals and families. Through training and workshops, TBWG builds skills that lead to greater independence and opportunity:
- Computer literacy training
- Adult literacy classes
- Financial literacy and personal safety workshops
- Craft workshops – including stencil, sewing, batik, and tie-dye, blending creativity with entrepreneurship
